• Vehicle identification.
At the moment, two types of technologies are used: a traditional one for parking areas with magnetic car or standard RFID, and a long-distance one for highways, which is very expensive. UHF-RFID technology presents an intermediate solution: medium distance at low cost. A card would be fastened to the vehicle, making reading possible without the presence of the driver. |

Currently, assembly line management relies on the use of very expensive active devices. Passive UHF/RFID technology would permit a substantial cost reduction. |
