Application Fields - Supply Chain |

Item management for the global commerce (management of distribution lines).
Sea container identification.
This application would replace the old ISO10374 regulation that has been used rarely due to the fact that its frequencies have been granted to the United States. |

Airport baggage management.
The new UHF-RFID technology will be an improvement over the existing smart label technology, by providing greater reading distances. Moreover, baggage sealing will be possible in anti-terrorism and theft prevention procedures.
Management of "cold chain".
Currently, the temperature of frozen goods is monitored with chemical indicators or hand held electronic devices. By increasing the reading distance, UHF/RFID will eliminate the need for hand held devices, and eventually provide scanners to read inside frozen food pallets.
Train composition management.
UHF/RFID technology is also applicable to the railway field because it permits wagon identification through readers placed on electric poles. The high transmission speed makes the identification of a train travelling at a moderate speed (depending from the air interface protocol used) possible. UHF/RFID can also assist in safety procedures at level crossings. |
